As a former mechanical engineer turned surgeon, he's always looking for ways to optimize systems and improve patient care. Dr Pastor specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery and practices in Edmonds, WA.
Brendan Parker, MD
Dr. Parker, a Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine physician, shares Andrew's commitment to delivering high-quality care and his frustration with the current state of the patient referral process. Dr Parker specializes in Emergency Medicine in Seattle, WA and Non-Operative Sports Medicine in Edmonds, WA.
The idea
The idea for OrthoCompass was born out of a shared experience. Dr Parker had a patient with a complex elbow fracture, but couldn't connect them with a specialized orthopedic surgeon. The patient was given a list of local orthopedic groups, but no clear direction. Dr Pastor and Dr Parker realized that this was a common problem, and that patients were often struggling to navigate the complex healthcare system. They saw an opportunity to create a better way.
With OrthoCompass, we aim to connect patients with local orthopedic surgeons who specialize in treating their specific injuries. By providing a simple and intuitive matching platform, we hope to facilitate better, faster, and safer care. Together, we are working to bring a little more compassion and kindness to the healthcare system, and to make it easier for patients to get the care they need.

Oscar Arriaga is a skilled Back End Developer and Full Stack Engineer, with expertise in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript development. He specializes in building robust authentication systems and ensuring application security, positioning himself as a front-end wizard. With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Oscar combines his in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience to deliver innovative and secure software solutions. His passion for coding and problem-solving drives his commitment to crafting scalable and user-centric applications.
Mario Martínez
Senior User experience designer with over 7 years of knowledge in the field, strong focus in design systems, Mario is dedicated to ensure optimal experience through clean UI in digital experiences, working in agile system to design, prototype, help develop, test and iterate in different teams, environments and fulfill needs of project. He also drives workshops to ensures clear goals and alignment through teams of designers, developers, and stakeholders.
